Lynwood, IL – December 17, 2023** – Women’s Innovation Group (WIG) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the Illinois Works Grant, enabling the launch of an innovative Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Construction. This exciting new initiative is set to empower residents of Lynwood, Illinois, by providing them with valuable opportunities to build careers in the construction industry, opening doors to economic empowerment and long-term success.
The Pre-Apprenticeship Program, funded by the Illinois Works Grant, will offer participants hands-on training, mentorship, and the foundational skills necessary to enter the construction workforce. This program aims to break down barriers, providing accessible pathways to rewarding careers for women, minorities, and other underrepresented groups within the Lynwood community.
