CHICAGO, IL., February 15, 2024 – The Illinois MBDA Business Center and Strategic Exceptions Professional Consulting INC, is hosting its 2024 Clean Energy Business Summit at Malcolm X College in Chicago, IL on February 29, 2024.
The 2024 Clean Energy Business Summit is the first Clean Energy Summit of its kind in the Chicago, IL area. Sometimes referred to as “The Energy Transition”, the summit will deliver a full day of insights and strategies in sessions led by industry leaders covering topics that explore the many challenges, politics and economics of this move toward cleaner sources of energy. The summit will explore topics such as Exploring AI Applications in Clean Energy, The Role of Utilities in the Future of Clean Energy, How Hydrogen and Electric Vehicles are changing the way we move and more.
Hosted in partnership with the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce, this summit will bring
together major utilities such as Nicor Gas, Illinois American Water, Constellation Energy , People’s Gas, and the Chicago Airport Authority. This summit is an opportunity to hear first hand from the leaders in the utility and aviation space on what steps they are taking to move along “The Energy Transition" and what that looks like in 2030. The summit will feature captivating conversations and innovative insights with industry leaders and CEOs such as Jamie Rhee, Commissioner of Chicago Department of Aviation, Dwayne Pickett, Vice President of Hydrogen Market Development for Constellation Energy, Torrence Hinton, President of People’s Gas and North Shore Gas, Dave Perez, Chief Operating Officer for ComEd and Wendell Dallas, President & CEO for Nicor Gas. In addition, there will be matchmaking sessions for ready businesses to sit down and talk to some of the country’s leading supplier diversity experts from these companies and more to showcase their goods and services.
During lunch the summit committee will be recognizing MBEs and organizations who have achieved milestones in 2023. The day will be capped off with the Conversations and Connections Reception, located at Sankofa Cultural Arts & Business Center, 5820 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60651, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. It's the perfect opportunity to continue conversations, enjoy great music, and kickstart collaborations that extend beyond the summit.
